Peelings (scrubs)

Chemical peeling is the treatment in aesthetic medicine consisting in the controlled damage to the skin with the specially selected substances, causing its exfoliation and the destruction of the epidermis and / or dermis with the subsequent regeneration of these tissues. After healing, the appearance of rejuvenation and skin regeneration occur as well as the intensity reduction or the complete subsiding of the symptoms of actinic keratoses, pigmented spots, wrinkles and atrophied superficial scars. A full treatment requires a few, repeated at intervals of 2 weeks, treatments.

Indications to the procedure:

  • Symptoms of skin ageing
  • Loss of brightness and skin elasticity, shallow wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation (postinflammatory, solar pigmentation, hormon induced hyperpigmentation)
  • Seborrhoea, large pores, comedones
  • Acne vulgaris
  • Acne-induced complications (shallow scars, postinflammatory hyperpigmantation)
  • Keratosis pillaris of the face, upper and lower extremities
The rules of conduct after the treatment:

 

  • The sun exposure avoidance, the use of the preparations protecting against ultraviolet radiation (UV filters with a minimum protection rate of 30).
  • The use of a fragrance-free moisturizers.
  • Between the peelings containing alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), the patients should apply a cream with AHA once or twice a day. The precise instructions on the type of preparation and the principles of its use are given by a physician after the treatment.

 

Contraindications to the procedure:

  • Hypersensitivity to active substances
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Infections at the site of treatment
  • Loss of skin continuity
  • In 1 week before the peel irritating procedures (i.e. dermabrasion, depilation) and application of irritating substances to the skin (i.e. topical retinoids) should be avoided.
